Synopsis[]

“Aydin is becoming a changed person. Now his lives as himself and Leanna are starting to merge together.”

Plot[]

As Glenn and Leanna soul meld once again, Glenn displays a memory of his final trial in the overworld. One of Glenn's fellow Chosen, a girl named Malissa is shown wounded in his arms. Glenn cries over her dying body and attempt to heal her but it's too late. To the side the modern Glenn explains to Leanna that Malissa and he fell in love during the trials of the overworld, but she didn't make it through the last trial and died. Leanna sympathizes with Glenn remembering her father and sister being killed. The pair shift their soul meld to one of Leanna's positive memories. At a point when Ayden was around eighteen and his sister Sabrina learns how to conjure a stone construct from their father. Leanna explains to Glenn that Sabrina was chosen as an apprentice by their father over him because she (Ayden) didn't like studying outside of school. Glenn however questions if their father was trying to train Sabrina to be something more and asks why he is so well versed in magic when as far as Leanna knows he was only a farmer.

Two weeks later, Leanna and Glenn arrive at the nursing home where her mother is taken care of. Glenn asks if Leanna has told her about their relationship, but Leanna says she's only mentioned how they're close friends and his generous job has helped pay for her care. Leanna begins to transform back into Ayden before going into see her. As he transforms however, Glenn kisses him, and his transformation seems to stop halfway through leaving him with long hair, a smaller bust, and skinny body. Ayden fails to notice and goes in to see his mother. Unlike the last time Mrs. Springcrest is clearer headed and seems to recognize Ayden. Ayden introduces Glenn and the two become happily acquainted. She asks Ayden if he's his boyfriend now, but Ayden is still hesitant to make it official and simply says they are close friends, and he has strong feelings for him. Glenn asks her about the farm and what she remembers about it. She recounts a few warm and happy times on the farm but when she looks towards Ayden, she refers to him as a she and calls her Ayla. Ayden is confused until he sees that his body still looks so feminine. Glenn confirms he's looked like that the whole time and Ayden realizes he got distracted when they were kissing and didn't fully transform back into his male form. He then realizes that his mom's condition is making her remember him as if he had been born a girl, as Ayla was the name she had picked out had Ayden been born a girl. She then makes a mild comment about them whispering like a close couple. Ayden thinks it may be best to play along to her minor delusion and transforms back into Leanna while her mother seems to see nothing odd about having a daughter in place of her son. Her mother still talks to her about being a couple with Glenn, but Leanna still insists they are just close friends. While Leanna is still a bit offset, she plays along since this is the first time in a long while she has been able to talk to her so clearly without her being so confused. Glenn helps her a bit and compliments on "Ayla" and her kind heart. He then asks more about Mrs. Springcrest and their family farm. While Leanna is a bit confused why Glenn seems so interested in the farm and her family history there she continues to play along. Her mother mentions a few more happy memories and then mentions how she would have loved to raise grandchildren there. Leanna gets a bit embarrassed at this, but she seems to enjoy the idea.
